Our goal is to hold a space where our students would find
COMFORT, CONFIDENCE, JOY and CURIOSITY in exploring their own body, movement, sensation and artistry...

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn"
B. Franklin

Hi, we are Jakub and Em

Natively from the Czech Republic and Réunion Island, we began our dance journeys at the ages of 16 and 12, respectively, both starting with Ballroom Dancing (Latin, Standard, and line-dancing).

Our passion for dance was ignited upon discovering West Coast Swing, captivated by its creativity, musicality, and freedom. Our dance repertoire is influenced by a diverse range of styles, including urban dances, contemporary, modern, zouk, and contact improvisation.

We are committed to continuously learning and growing in our craft, integrating new techniques from various dance forms to enhance our movement and connection.

Our J'Em story began in June 2016, when we were hired together by chance for a styling workshop conducted by Adam Balasy and Rita Jori in Budapest.

Today, we are grateful to be recognized as West Coast Swing Champion dancers. Our journey has taken us around the World, where we share our passion for dancing with diverse audiences.

It includes activities such as exercises, drills, and real-world application.

Consistent practice helps to solidify concepts and improve proficiency over time.

Feedback

It can be corrective, reinforcing, or guiding, helping learners understand what they did well and where they need improvement.

Effective feedback supports growth and encourages continuous learning.

TESTIMONIALS

"Thank you for your time and patience, and for sharing your knowledge with us.

Thank you for always meeting us where we are at, challenging us with topics that never overwhelm us, and making us feel like we are making progress.

Thank you for recognizing and accepting different approaches rather than just one right way.

Without working with you, we would not have learned so many things in our „dancelife“ - and also not learned that it is okay to do things differently. "
